Throughout the year FemEng plans and organises informal nights out and casual day time events. Some more information of our past events can be seen below!
Freshers Mixers
At the start of every year we hold our first freshers mixer, to give the first years a chance to get out and meet some new people in engineering. This also gives them a chance to get involved in FemEng and talk to some older students to gain insight on what lies ahead for them at University.
This year we had our freshers mixer online over Zoom, which was such a fun night and gave our new members a great chance to meet some new faces since lectures aren't on!
Pub Nights
For anyone who becomes a member of FemEng, they are invited to join a committee meeting once a month to get updated on what the committee have been up to and any future plans, and of course everyone is invited out to the pub afterwards!
Anti-Social Social
During exam period it can be very stressful with lots of deadlines and pressure building up on people. We hold an Anti-Social Social where our members can come along to a booked study space and get some work done with friends in FemEng. Of course, food and drinks are supplied!
Joint Engineering Society Pub Crawl
This last year we organised a large Engineering pub crawl along with other UofG Engineering societies such as the UofG Engineering Society, UofG Rocketry, GU Orbit, Handprints Enable Scotland, and the University of Glasgow Racing Team. This was a great night and let everyone meet some new people in our courses!
Committee Christmas Dinner
Every Christmas it is tradition for the committee to go to a local pub and have a Christmas dinner. Given the stressful exam period this is always a great chance to catch up and relax without worrying about any work that we should be doing...
